Mission Statement

We wish to honor our Iowa County WWII Veterans with a trip to Washington D.C. to see the WWII Monument that was built in their honor in 2004, 59 years after the war ended.  It is the goal of this committee, with the support of Iowa County citizens and others, to provide all Iowa County and VFW Post #8797 WWII Veterans the opportunity to see their monument. For all veterans interested in participating, the transportation, scooters and wheelchairs, meals and necessities will be expense free.  Local volunteers and guardians will accompany the veterans on the trip to assist with any physical or health needs and limitations.  We also encourage other VFW and Auxiliary members and spouses to accompany us on this trip at a minimal cost.
